Marian Grotto

Grotto

Bishop Carroll student Grant Goebel (Class of 2024) envisioned creating a Marian Grotto on campus as part of his Eagle Scout project; a sacred space devoted to peace, prayer, and devotion to the Blessed Mother. What began as a modest idea evolved into a faith-filled endeavor that came to fruition through countless hours of thoughtful planning, collaboration with skilled professionals, and the generosity of many donors who share a deep love for Mary and Bishop Carroll Catholic High School.

GrottoThe centerpiece of the grotto is a beautiful statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, who appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes, France beginning on February 11, 1858. Her serene presence reminds our community of Mary’s compassion and intercession for all who seek her Son.

On September 12, 2025, the statue was blessed by Bishop Carl A. Kemme, marking a sacred moment for our school and the broader Bishop Carroll community. The formal dedication will take place on November 1, 2025, and all are invited to join us in celebrating this milestone of faith.Grotto

We also invite you to become part of our Memorare Army, joining in prayer as we thank God for the many years of dedicated service from Mrs. Nielsen and ask for Mary’s intercession in guiding Bishop Carroll Catholic High School through this time of transition and new leadership.
