Attendance: All students are to be in class, seated and ready for work when the bell rings. Failure to do so is considered being tardy and will result in one demerit (refer to demerit policy in student handbook). When students are absent, it is their responsibility to check with the teacher and make arrangements to complete the work that was missed. Assignments Most assignments are completed in class. Therefore, if an assignment is not finished in the allotted time, a zero will be recorded. ASSIGNMENTS MAY NOT BE COMPLETED DURING INSTRUCTION TIME! I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY UNEXCUSED LATE ASSIGNMENTS!! If you are absent, it is your responsibility to find out if you need to make up an assignment! Students will have sufficient time to complete assignments when their absence is excused. Students must have their assignments completed before they leave on pre-arranged absences. Assignments missed because of out-of-school or in-school suspension, or unexcused absence will result in 50% credit given on the assignment(s), if it is turned in the next class meeting after you return to school, otherwise it will be counted as a zero. If you are gone on the day of a test or the day an assignment is due, you will be expected to make up the test or hand in the assignment the first school day you are back (schedule the test with me). Creative Duplication: Students are expected to do their own work. At times, students will work with each other when applicable but are still expected to create their own work. Students caught copying or creatively duplicating will receive a zero on the assignment or test and your parents will be notified. On the second violation, a conference with your parents will be required to continue this class. Anyone caught file swapping will lose computer privileges, which may result in a failing grade for the assignment and possibly for the course. Grading: Grades are evaluated on a point system for each assignment. Lab points are earned based on daily attendance, participation and behavior. Assignments and quizzes will be approximately the same amount of points and test will be assigned more points. The semester exam will count as 10% of your grade. The following grading scale will be used: The FINAL semester grade will be calculated as follows: 90% Class Work Total Pts Behavior: I expect you to behave accordingly. We will be working on very expensive equipment and I expect you to treat the equipment with respect. There will be NO TOLERANCE for abuse of the equipment.
