CLASS DESCRIPTION
Spanish class will include teacher instruction, speaking activities, learning games, group work, in-class assignments, quizzes and DVD activities

REQUIRED TEXTBOOK AND WORKBOOK

GRADE
70% “written” grade  (quizzes, assignments, 10% Semester Final)
30% “participation” grade  (volunteering, effort, attendance, pair/group work, not sleeping, not  
doing other homework)
NOTE: Each student will begin semester with an 88% participation grade

GRADING SCALE
100-92 A  /  91-83 B  /  82-74 C  /  73-65 D  /  64-0 F

DEMERITS
*Talking out of turn
*Insulting other students
*Profanity / Screaming
*Horseplay
*Consumption of food / drink
*Unexcused tardy

PROCEDURES
*Teacher makes ONE request, then DEMERIT
*Every 4 demerits: Parent contacted
*Only 2 passes per semester after the bell rings (1 Hall pass & 1 Library pass)
*No passes or permission to be late after 2nd lunch
*Make-up work due the following week
*At the end of the hour stay at desk till bell rings
*Cheating is a zero
*Stay away from the teacher desk area
