Coach Jim Nance

Coach Nance is entering his sixteenth season as defensive coordinator at Bishop Carroll. He helped take a defense that was ranked last in total defense thirteen seasons ago and orchestrated the “Gang Green” philosophy making the Eagle defense one of the top ranked defenses in the City League. He was a member of the 1978 Bishop Carroll Football Team that won the State Championship. He also had the distinct honor of winning a National Championship while playing for Butler County Community College.
Later, Coach Nance finished his playing career at Wichita State University.

Nance is a Bishop Carroll graduate of 1980. He is the husband of Paula and the father of two sons, Sammy age 11 and Michael age 6. He graduated from Wichita state University in 1985, with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Biology. He began teaching and coaching at Bishop Carroll in 1993. He is also currently the football defensive coordinator and the head bowling coach.
