Coach Matt Bye

Family
Matthew Bye has been married to Becky Bye for 30 years. They have four children; Matt (26), Kara (23), and Andrew (6). His son Matt JR. is also coaching at Bishop Carroll and will be joining Varsity staff. The Bye family are members of St. Jude Parish where Andrew is also a first grader. Mr. Bye works a full time job at Spirit AeroSystems in the Lean organization where he coaches organizations on improvement initiatives. He has been working there for 31 years. Mr. Bye graduated from high school in 1978 from Wichita North and carries a Business Administration degree from Southwestern College.

Coaching Experience
Mr. Bye coached youth football for ten years and spent the last 21 years on high school football. His first school was Wichita Collegiate where they won the 3A state championship in ’94. He joined Bishop Carroll staff for the ’97 season and coached defensive ends and receivers. This year will be his 14th year coaching the defensive line. He enjoys the colorful personalities of the defensive line. Mr. Bye considers the family atmosphere that surrounds not just the Football team, but the Carroll community is the best part about coaching at Carroll.

Previous Playing Experience
Mr. Bye played high school football at North and had lost to Carroll his senior year which Coach Nance jokes about.
