Bowling | Boys Swimming | Wrestling

Review/Recap:

The boys and girls bowling teams had a great showing at the State tournament. The girls got 2nd at State ending their season undefeated. The boys placed 3rd at State.Hollyann Johansen was named State Champion for the second year in a row. Johansen, who as a sophomore became the first two-time state champion, boy or girl, in either class.

Upcoming:

The bowling team is now looking forward to their next bowling season!

Review/Recap:

Highlights from State include Senior Devin Bacha placing 6th in diving, Senior Joseph Bachman placing 5th in the 100yd butterfly and the 100yd backstroke, and Senior Alec Khoury placing 8th in the 500yd freestyle and 2nd in the 100yd breastroke.  Also, Junior Alexander Vulgamore placed 6th in the 200yd freestyle and 3rd in the 100yd butterfly, Sophomore Will Smith placed 11th in the 200yd individual medley and 6th in the 100yd breaststroke, and Freshman Jace Hilger placed 12th in the 200yd individual medley and 13th in 100yd backstroke.  The 200yd medley relay consisting of Joseph Bachman, Will Smith, Alexander Vulgamore, and Alec Khoury placed 2nd, and the 400yd freestyle relay consisting of Joseph Bachman, Jacob Khoury, Alec Khoury, and Alexander Vulgamore placed 4th.

Review/Recap:

The Class 5A State Wrestling tournament took place at Hartman Arena on February 24th and 25th  this past weekend. The Bishop Carroll Wrestling team placed 16th out of 31 schools, finishing with a score of 40 ½ .  Senior, Matt Ziegler, ended his high school wrestling career with a third place in the 145 weight class. He defeated Michael Helms of Arkansas City, 2-0. Congratulations to Ziegler and the rest of the BC wrestling program! Great job this season!
