Cappex is sponsoring the Lead with Your Heart Scholarship.  The $5,000 scholarship is for student who have invented something or improved a process or been involved in volunteering.  For more information and to apply go to www.cappex.com/scholarships

Colby Community College Presidential Scholarship $1,500. per year. To be eligible students must have a cum GPA of 3.0 or higher and a 21 or higher ACT.  Interested students should see Mrs. Neville.  Deadline to apply is January, 2012.

The Gates Millennium Scholars Program is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 year.  This is a renewable, need-based, merit scholarship.  Students must be pursuing a major in one of the following areas:  computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science.  Students must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American, a citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States, have an accumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.  The deadline is January 11, 2012.  Applications are available at www.gmsp.org.

University of Great Falls is offering full tuition scholarships to ten students who graduate from a Catholic High School.  For more information go to www.ugf.edu

K- State Math Scholarships for seniors who have a min. cum. GPA 3.5 and major in math are eligible to apply for a renewable math scholarship. Students may pick up an application form in the counseling office.

Senior men who plan to attend KSU next fall may apply for the ACACIA Fraternity leadership scholarship.  They are offering one $1,000 scholarship and two $500.00 scholarships.  Students can apply at www.kstateacacia.org the deadline is January 26, 2012

Kansas State Chapter of Delta Chi fraternity is offering a $250. James Komatz/Delta Chi Memorial Scholarship for a male student who plans to attend Kansas State University. Applications available in the counseling office the deadline is March 1st.

Seniors who are planning on going to KU who have faced significant challenges and financial hardship are eligible to apply for the Hixson Opportunity Award.  This award is $20,000 paid out over four years.  For more information and to apply go to www.scholarships.ku.edu/hixson.shtml.   The deadline to apply is February 1, 2012.

Senior men with a 3.5 cum GPA who are planning on attending KU are eligible to apply for the $500.00 White Star Scholarship from the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.  Applications are available in the counseling office deadline is February 1, 2012.

University of Missouri Business school is offering two large scholarship they are the Ponder Minority Scholarship and the Sam M. Walton Scholarship.  Interested students can apply at www.business.missouri.edu/scholarships.  The deadline to apply is February 1, 2012. 

St. Michael’s College in Vermont is offering the Edmundite Scholarship for students who graduate from a Catholic high school.  The scholarship is for $20,000 to be used over four years.  Interested students should go to www.smcvt.edu. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2012.

Washburn University Leadership Institute is offering scholarship awards up to $8,000.  Applications are available in the Counseling office or students may apply at www.washburn.edu/leadership! The deadline to apply in January 9,

Seniors who are of 50% Hispanic heritage, have a minimum of a 3.0 cum. GPA and can demonstrate financial need are eligible to apply for the Kansas Hispanic Scholarship Program.    The deadline to apply is January 27, 2012 applications are available in the Counseling office

Students interested in attending the University of Dayton are eligible to participate in the servant leadership video contest.  For more information go to www.Facebook.com/universityofdayton

Seniors with a 3.6 or higher cumulative gpa who are interested in Avila University are eligible to apply for the $52,00 Service Leadership Scholarship.  Interested students should see Mrs. Neville.

Seniors the Midwestern Higher Education Compact is a tuition reduction program for students who want to attend an out of state college.  For more information go to http://msep.mhec.org

Seniors who participated in junior golf activities  are eligible to apply for the Kansas Junior Golf Scholarship.  Interested students can go to www.kansasgolf.org/foundation/scholarships the deadline to apply is April 2, 2012.

Delta Theta Chi Sorority, a national non-collegiate educational sorority is awarding two $3, 000 and one $1,400.00 scholarship for students who are of high scholastic and have evidence of financial need.  Interested students can apply at www.deltathetachi.org applications are due Feb. 1, 2012.

The American Legion is offering several scholarships all applications are available in the Counseling office.

National High School Oratorical Contest awards range from $1,500. To $150.00 the deadline is January 5, 2012.

Music $1,000 for student who will major or minor in music

Shooting Sports $500.00 must have participated in an American Legion Shooting Sports program.

Hobble Nursing LPN $300.00 paid upon acceptance to an accredited KS LPN program.

The following are for students whose parents are a veteran and a member of the Kansas American Legion for the past three years also includes deceased members if dues had been paid at the time of death.  Students must have a C average or higher.

American Legion Scholarships due March 1, 2012

Eagle Scout of the Year $500.00 must be 15 years or older.  Kansas American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year will be nominated for the national American legions Scout of the Year scholarship for scholarships ranging from $10,00 to 2,500.

American Legions Scholarships due July 15, 2012

Dr. Click Cowger Baseball $500.00 for senior who has participated in American Legion Baseball.

American Legion Baseball Leadership $1,000 for senior who is a certified American legion baseball player.

Paul Flaherty Athletic $250.00 scholarship who has participated I some form of school athletics.

Seniors interested in an engineering career are invited to apply for the 2012 “Engineer for a Day Program”. The program is for high school students to spend a day with a sponsor engineering firm and observe some of the specific duties and challenges of the engineering profession.  Five selected students from Bishop Carroll will be hosted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by a local engineering firm which specializes in the engineering field of interest to the student. A luncheon will be hosted by the Wichita Society Professional Engineers and Wichita State University to recognize the students and hosts.  Interested students should pick up an application form in the Counseling office from Mrs. Neville and should be returned to Mrs. Neville by Monday, January 16, 2012.

The B. Davis $1,000 Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors.  To apply for this scholarship you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on the topic: how your education has contributed to who you are today, or how it will affect who you will become. Email your essay to awards@studentawardsearch.comthe deadline is May 28, 2012

Seniors Barton Community College is offering a Books & Tuition Scholarship for student Athletic Trainers.  Students interested in more information or to apply need to go to www.BartonSports.com and click on “Inside Athletics” and then on “Sports Medicine” .

Seniors who have a parent who is a Veteran and/or a member of the American Legion may check out from the Counseling office an American Legion CD which reviews Veteran dependents scholarship benefits.

McPherson College is offering a Jump Start Kansas Venture Idea Competition.  The competition is looking for new product, service or social ventures.  The winner will be awarded $5,000.  For more information stop by the counseling office or go to http://blogs.mcpherson.edu/entrepreneurship/jump-start-kansas.  Application deadline is January 25, 2012.
Senior athletes are eligible to apply for a  scholarship with Playing with Purpose.  The criteria is C average or higher, a varsity level athlete and a committed follower of Jesus Christ.  For more information go to www.playingwithpurpose.org deadline for application is March 1, 2012.

Seniors Sedgwick County Farm Bureau Association is offering six scholarships this year.  Three scholarships are for $1,000 and may be renewed and the other two are for $500.00and may be renewed once.  The applicant or their parent must be a member in good standing of the Sedgwick County Farm Bureau Agricultural Association, and they must have a cum gpa of 3.0 or higher.  The deadline to apply is March 1, 2012.  Application forms are available in the counseling office.

Seniors the Kansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers is offering the Glenn Lygrisse/KACRAO Scholarship. There are four $250 awards available for the 2012-2013 academic year. Eligible students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, a minimum ACT composite of 22, and plan to attend College in the fall of 2012.  The deadline to apply is March 9, 2012 applications are available in the Counseling office.
