will NOT be accepted on spiral paper; place assignment in stacker when due
and if absent, when you return to school.
Late work will be given zero. If
grading is not understood, students should ask for explanation.
- Return
graded assignment into your
binder. If grades are
incorrectly recorded, bring graded paper to my attention
- During
test and quiz, student may not communicate; both hands must remain on the
desktop; communication will result in zero on test or quiz and a report will
be filed in the office.
- Graded
Tests will be reviewed by the class and then will be kept by instructor;
tests may be viewed by student and/or parents before/after school or by
other arrangements.
- Students
should be in their chair before tardy bell rings ready to take notes with
assignments ready to be handed in
- Any
tardy (2nd thru 7th) will result in demerit. First
hour tardy will go through the office.
- Students
will dismissed by teacher after the room is put back in original condition.
- Students
will solve problems, perform experiments, assist classmates and sometimes
check and correct other student’s assignments.

will have two days to make up work in case of EXCUSED absence.
- If
present any part of the day (activities), students are expected to get
assignments, hand in assignments due for that day.
- If
assignment is given before the absence, work should be completed upon your
return OR when the assignment was due (any exception will be discussed
with instructor before or after school)
- If
extended absence, a time table will be determined by teacher, student and
parents
- If
suspended, students will be expected to maintain class schedule of
completing work. Students
should make arrangement to take test/quiz and turn in all work on time.
Classwork will be given zeros.
- Homework
is to help students become independent learners, reinforce concepts
demonstrated in class, and complete work started in class (ex:
lab report). Students
are expected to have homework or reading assignments on a regular basis.
Not all homework will be graded, but will be reviewed.
Parents are welcomed to review/assist students.
Students are allowed to work with other students or tutors
on homework assignments. Copied
work cheats students from realizing their abilities.
Physics I will cover scientific method, SI measurements, motion, forces,
work, energy, machines, waves, electricity and magnetism, space science.
Technology
(internet, sensors) will be used as much as possible to enhance and extend
learning. Excel spreadsheets
will be taught/used to record, graph, and analyze data.
The
Holy Spirit has guided me to Bishop Carroll, and I look forward to sharing my
knowledge of Science.
