Expectations

No food or drink is allowed in the classroom. Gum will be disposed if it is seen or heard

Be prepared for class and seated in assigned seat when the bell rings.

Do not interrupt the teacher or speaker

Use appropriate and positive language.

Assignments

• Points will be taken off any graded assignments for not following directions, improper headings, and/or writing with incomplete sentences.
• Homework is due at the beginning of the hour. Items turned in after collection to the next day will be docked 50%.  Afterwards, assignments receive no credit. 
• If you are gone for a school sponsored event, you must turn in your work before you leave for full credit.  If you are absent due to an illness or family obligation, you have two days for every day that you were gone.  Unexcused Absences:  Only ½ credit will be given on assignments due or assigned on dates gone. 
• Do not work on assignments from other classes during English unless given permission.  Items will be confiscated and not returned until after school and demerits given.
• Cheating in any form will not be tolerated.  All parties involved will receive no credit on the assignment
• No individual extra credit is given.

·         All formal papers should be typed, double-spaced and in MLA format and 12 pt. Times-New Roman font. We have a library with printers available for your use before/after school and during lunch. If you encounter printer problems, you may handwrite the paper and only lose 10pts if turned in on time.

• Cheating in any form will not be tolerated.  All parties involved will receive no credit on the assignment.

Materials:

• Be prepared for class with all necessary items.
• Turn in assignment in appropriate box when you enter the classroom.
• Place backpack in designated location in the classroom and take supplies needed for class to your desk.

Classroom Emergencies:

• If you need to go to the nurse or office for a medical reason, please fill out your agenda.
• If you need to go to the office, use the bathroom or go to your locker during class, please fill out your agenda.  You will then need to come to Rm. 306 after school that day for 15 minutes.  Failure to do so will result in a detention.

Absences and Tardies:

• If you are absent for the day, it is your responsibility to get assignments and schedule make-up tests.  Work that is due on the day of your absence is due on the day you return. You have two days for each day that you were absent to make up the work assigned on missing days.  Assignments from unexcused absences will receive only ½ credit.
• Tardies will be recorded and those tardy to class will receive a demerit.

Consequences:

• If you choose not to follow the teacher’s expectations or the policies outlined in your agenda; demerits, detentions or referrals will be given. 

Miscellaneous:

·         I arrive to school around 11 am and will stay at least to 3:45pm .

·         I am in the following classrooms throughout the day:
