CLASS DESCRIPTION

Spanish 1 class will include teacher instruction, speaking activities, learning games, group work, classroom assignments, worksheets and computer activities.

100-93 A; 92-85 B; 84-76 C; 75-70 D; 69-0 F

GRADE

70%  “written” grade (quizzes, assignments)

30%  “participation” grade (classroom participation & effort, attendance, attitude, pair/

          group work, not sleeping, not doing other homework)

          Note: Each student will begin the 9 weeks with a 90%  participation grade

RULES (DEMERIT)

*NO talking while teacher is conducting class/announcements/Channel 1 (one warning)

*NO insulting other students

*NO profanity

*NO horseplay/screaming

*NO consumption of food/drink

*Unexcused tardy

*Lack of textbook or workbook (if needed)

*Cell phone or Ipod out (confiscated)

PROCEDURES

*Every 3 demerits: Parents contacted

*Make-up work: Following week

*Ask before the bell to use bathroom, etc.

*Only one pass given per 9 weeks (must have agenda book)

*Cheating is a zero

*Turn papers upside down and pass to front of the row
