Bishop Carroll Catholic High School
New Testament Objectives
This class is a basic course on Christology
as the life
of Christ
who is the Messianic fulfillment of the Old Testament is studied through the
New Testament of the Sacred Scripture (in the 4 Gospels) as well as in
Sacred Tradition (Catechism of the Catholic Church and Liturgy).
Special attention is given to showing how Jesus and many important
New Testament events fulfill the biblical
types
found in the Old Testament.
The course also provides an introduction to the study of the Acts of
the Apostles, the Letters and Epistles and the Book of Revelation.
The students are given opportunities to continue to make Scripture an
integral part of their daily prayer
life.
The course ends with a survey of key
verses
from each of the books of the New Testament.
In
Honors Class, exegetical work requiring a more thorough understanding and
detailed analysis of the New Testament will be demanded.
